Starting with the Behind the Scenes - October, I will be posting a short blip about the News on Runescape. It won't be copied from the site, just a summary in my words.
Behind the Scenes - October
[shadow=red,left,300]PvP Worlds[/shadow]
Coming October 2008
PvP Worlds will probably be the big hit this year, next to the new graphics! Yes PvP worlds, almost anywhere in them is dangerous. Banks and spawn locations will be a safe spot. On the other hand, the rest of the Runescape world will be violence and action! Drops will not be all of the other characters items, but a portion depending on a lot of things. More on Release Date. . .
[shadow=red,left,300]Hallowe'en[/shadow]
Coming October 2008
Hallowe'en will be fun for everybody! Including F2P players. A new quest will be available for 2 weeks for Free Players. And permanent for members. Besides the quest will be the the actual holiday event. Have a happy Hallowe'en! More on release date. . .
[shadow=red,left,300]Runescape Pre-Pay Card Launched[/shadow]
Runescape has just realeased Pre-Pay cards to all Target stores across the states. They come in 30 day subscriptions and 90 day subscriptions. There is a PIN on the back and you input it into the text box on the new "Runescape Card" subscription page.

I really don't have an account to go PvP with, but I guess I can still summarize the bit about them on the Runescape page. The PvP worlds were released on Oct. 15th, I'm guessing they are great! A good thing could be that you need 20 combat to get into one of the worlds, so I won't be in any because I'm just a skiller!
Here’s a quick run-down of the features (and I don't take any credit for the following I took it off the site):
- Fight players (within your level range) anywhere on the map, except in a few safe areas.
- Safe areas include banks, respawn points and some guilds.
- Level ranges are 10% of your Combat level, plus 5 levels. If you are fighting inside the Wilderness, the Wilderness level is added to this total. Your current attack range is shown on your screen at all times. (The 10% is measured from the higher of the two combatants’ levels.)
- Skulling is back – same rules apply. If you initiate combat, you are skulled and on death you will lose all items, with the Protect Item prayer saving one item as normal.
- Teleport Block is back in the normal spellbook.
Some minigames are available to play, others are not – please see the Game Guide for more details.
- Death drops are back – new rules apply. Drops will be a mixture of items from the defeated opponent’s inventory and items from drop tables specific to PvP worlds. See below for details.
The quality of the drops you get when you PK someone depends on several different factors:
To get a reward from a kill, you also have to risk some items yourself!
To accumulate a possible reward, you have to risk a minimum of 75k of items on a members’ world, or a minimum of 25k of items on a free world.
Note that your three most valuable items won’t count as being risked unless you’ve been skulled, as you wouldn’t lose them.
The longer you spend on a PvP world (outside a safe area) with the required amount of items at risk, the better your possible rewards might become, to reward you for your risk.
The possible reward increases even faster and goes to a higher maximum if you go into a ‘hot zone’.
Note, however, that risking more than the minimum won’t improve your rewards faster, so it’s a good idea to take relatively cheap and useful items that won’t cost you too much to replace if you die.

[shadow=red,left,300]Improvements to the Game Log-In Process[/shadow]
A new way of login has been released, less pages and quicker playing. This could be good if you are in a hurry to meet a friend. You choose on the front page whether you are F2p or P2p. Then you choose Standard Detail or High Detail when you are brought into the login screen. Also, you can log-in to a random world by just pressing "Log In"! Or you can choose the best world for you. Lots of other new things along with it, check it out!
