Did anyone request any Modkeeping?
Well, you've come to the right place if you need a little assistance with all of the Forum-related housekeeping that requires the abilities of the moderator team.
In the past, if you wanted your thread locked, then we asked you to edit the first post of your thread so that any passing Mods could take action. However, some of the Forum Moderators have decided that it would be a great idea to keep all of these requests in one place.
That relies on you all making sure you're aware of how the thread works, keeping within the rules and remembering that maintenance of this thread is an entirely voluntary service by the Forum Mod team. They're not required to check this as part of their moderating duties, it's only out of the goodness of their hearts and a desire to help you all that this thread exists.
This thread is for thread creators only to request:
• Threads to be locked.
• Threads to be moved (for example, if you discovered that you've posted in the incorrect Forum).
You must use these templates if you would like a Mod to lock or move your thread:
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
LOCK THREAD REQUEST
Thread name:
Reason you want the thread locked:
URL of thread:
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
MOVE THREAD REQUEST
Thread name:
Reason you want the thread moved:
Move to:
URL of thread:
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Please note that your thread will not be moved if it
breaks the rules of the requested forum.
There should be no discussion on this thread; all we want to see is correctly filled-in templates!
Points to note:
• This thread should not be used to request that your thread be stickied, approved or made official. Threads that are awesome enough to gain this title will get it without any requests.
· This thread shouldn't be used to ask for a title change, you do not need to be a moderator specifically to do this. If you try to edit your first post, you will notice that you can edit the title as well.
· You cannot ask to have your thread moved to a board where posting threads is prohibited. This is mainly the effect of having a good helping thread that your thread will get moved to one of these types of boards. We ask that you post your message in the submissions forum and hopefully you will get a detailed response there.
• Posts will be hidden as Moderators deal with the requests, so no asking 'Why are all the posts hidden here?'
Remember: Mods have other roles that are usually more important than making someone's thread just a little bit better. They need to make sure the forums are safe for everyone! Be sure that if your thread doesn't experience its changes, that you know that a moderator is there and will usually fulfill your request, just they're doing more important moderating duties first.
Thank you for reading this thread, and I hope your threads stay the best they can be!
